Suspected DUI Driver Takes Out Electrical Box

On 11/13/22 at approximately 6:15 PM, Heartland Fire and San Diego Sheriff’s responded to a report of an accident near the 1900 block of Siegle Drive. Upon their arrival, they came across a car that had crashed into an electrical box. Neighbors stated the male exited the car and appeared to be under the influence. The male told witnesses “I was tired and blacked out.” The driver stayed on scene and was being talked to by responding Deputies are investigating whether drugs or alcohol were a factor. The area was closed off due to the exposed wires. The driver narrowly missed hitting a nearby vehicle.
