37716 at Bamfurlong 17th June 2021
DRS "Tractor" 37716 growls through Bamfurlong as it makes its way south along the West Coast Main Line on the morning of Thursday 17th June 2021. The Class 37 was hauling six MkII coaches which had previously been used on Scot-Rail's "Fife Circle" diagrams and were now surplus to requirements. The coaches do look rather shabby but that is because the ScotRail body-wrap vinyl had been removed which in some parts had peeled through and revealed the ex-Virgin Trains red livery underneath. The coaches were on their way to Burton-on-Trent, presumably to Nemesis Rail and hopefully will wind up in traditional BR Blue & Grey livery and see further use on railtours :) The 37 could be heard well into the distance as it approached with the driver easing up a little as it approached Bamfurlong Junction and shutting off just after passing me, if you listen carefully there is a long three-tone toot just after passing by as there was a Network Rail P-Way gang working a little further up the line, including Wigan's number one P-Way man (who was no doubt standing lookout again). The official working was; 5Z37 Kingmoor Sidings DRS - Burton Wetmore Sidings Thanks for watching and subscribe to see more rail videos coming soon.
