To me, this just looked like a handful of videotapes of stunts that didn't quite fit as a 'light-hearted look at life' at the end of a news bulletin. So they wedged them altogether, got Garry 'bad cover of a Thorpey classic' Sweet to do some ins and outs for each clip, paid him handsomely, and then broadcast it.
