Apple-Date Betty | Everyday Food with Sarah Carey

Today I'm going to show you a dessert that's as American as apple betty. (I know what you're thinking: "Doesn't she mean pie?" I don't!) Brown betty desserts have been around since colonial times, with good reason. Betties are so much easier to make than pie. No finicky crust. No rolling. Instead, buttery toasted bread stands in, but you still get that fabulous spiced-apple flavor that you would from a pie. A win-win, right? Sarah's Tip of the Day: In the video, I'll show you how to assemble the dessert and finish it off with a decadent addition before serving.
