How not to gain weight after Bariatric Surgery? - Dr. Nanda Rajaneesh
Losing weight after bariatric surgery is all about decrease in the quantity of intake of diet. So here we remove the signals which are there between the stomach and the brain which will make you eat excessively because the stomach size itself is s reduced. So quantity of intake will automatically get reduced. But what patients normally do is though their appetite is less, they end up eating food voluntarily, like high calorie food. So they push themselves with high calorie food even though they are not having an appetite. So this causes irreversible dilatation of the stomach. So it is important not to eat foods with miada, besan, which bloats the intestine, bloats the stomach should be avoided. Take adequate quantities of proteins that are needed for your body. If you are losing hair, it means you are protein deficient and you have thin nails, dryness of the skin that means you are becoming protein deficient. So adequate protein intake, multivitamin intake, Vitamin D supplementation, Vitamin B12 supplementation, can itself prevent increase in weight post bariatric surgery. So we call this failure of bariatric surgery which is especially common after 5 years if you do not have good knowledge of follow up of this surgery.
