Can you break the wood... without breaking the paper? // Midnight (Science) Snack
Here's one of our favorite inertia science demos, but beware: there are 🔪 knives 🔪 involved! Inertia is the tendency of matter to stay still or keep moving unless you do something to change that. But if you try to move an object too quickly, you might only succeed in breaking it! Can you break this piece of wood... WITHOUT also breaking the thin paper hooked around the sharp knives? Understanding inertia can help! We take a look in this science demo. “This is the same phenomenon that allows karate fighters to break those boards without hurting the hands of the person holding the board! I find our version to be much less painful all around.” -Jake, Wizard IV Want to see content like this early, get behind the scenes access, and be a part of future videos?
