U.S. President Donald Trump has issued one of his strongest messages yet to Ukraine, saying President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “will have to approve” a U.S.-backed peace plan aimed at ending the war with Russia. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said Ukraine “doesn’t have the cards” to demand a deal entirely on its own terms and warned that if Zelenskyy rejects the proposal, the fighting may continue without guaranteed U.S. backing. The plan — a 28-point framework seen by Reuters — reportedly asks Ukraine to cede territory, accept limits on its military, and drop its bid to join NATO. At the same time, it requires Russia to withdraw forces from certain occupied regions, something Moscow has previously resisted.
