ABT Studio Company and Duke University Advanced Ballet (with Tyler Walters)

In January 2019, Duke Performances hosted the first of three on-campus residencies bringing together the American Ballet Theatre’s (ABT) Studio Company — the organization’s pre-professional training program — and contemporary dance theater choreographer Stefanie Batten Bland. The residency, which featured a series of master classes, open rehearsals, and public conversations and showings, provided a first glimpse into Duke’s unprecedented three-year institutional collaboration with ABT.
