Threat hunting came to prominence over the last few years and continues to be an important tool in the arsenal of modern enterprise security. With the shift to the cloud, however, threat hunting has taken a back seat as teams try to figure out their surface area and understand who “owns” protecting this new surface area. Furthermore, when does threat hunting stop and incident response start? What’s the difference between threat hunting and detection? And what is the right balance between prevention and detection+response in the cloud? In this session, we will discuss these topics and provide guidance for becoming more effective at threat hunting with an eye on SaaS and IaaS environments.
