Love that you are here, Anna Sue • 1 venison roast (3–4 pounds, slightly smaller works too) • 3–4 tablespoons olive oil • 1 packet ranch seasoning • 1 packet au jus seasoning • 1 stick butter, cubed (I add an extra 1/2 a stick if adding in the optional veggies-potatoes, baby carrots, celery) • 1 (16-ounce) jar of whole pepperoncini peppers (juice included) 1. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add just enough oil to coat the bottom (about 3–4 tablespoons). 2. Sear the venison roast on all sides until golden brown. Turn it as it sears to get an even crust. 3. Place the roast in the crock pot. 4. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus seasoning over the top of the roast. 5. Cube the butter and scatter it evenly over the roast. 6. Pour in the entire jar of pepperoncinis, including the juice. 7. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours. 8. Shred the meat using two forks or a meat shredder. If you remove it from the slow cooker, return it to the juices for extra flavor. The cooking liquid is delicious and you will want to use up every bit of it. #venisonrecipe #deer #crockpotcooking #slowcookerrecipe
