ACU-Heart Clinical Trial Shows Reduction in Post-op Atrial Fibrillation

Feingold, PhD, clinical psychologist at Northwestern Medicine Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute, discusses the ACU-Heart clinical trial studying the use of daily acupuncture in the hospital setting after heart valve surgery. Not only did the study find that acupuncture after heart valve surgery reduced pain, nausea, stress and anxiety, it also demonstrated a potential 58% reduction in the incidence of post-operative atrial fibrillation.
