Dynamic VS Condenser Mic: Living Room Background Noise Test! (Shure SM58 vs Rode NT-1)

Are dynamic mics quieter than condenser mics? Do they filter out more background noise? I'll be testing Shure's SM58 and Rode's NT1 against each other in a small test today. Well, reddit says that it's a myth because of underpowering and gain. But if an underpowered mic just gives less background noise, that's good enough for me. It's not eliminating everything though, it seems.
