1 John 3:19 24 Assurance for your Heart Part 1
John talks about how our hearts respond to evidence of salvation. God has always been about heart change, not simply external changes to our actions. We must let the truth of Scripture reveal our hearts in light of the holiness of God and let this change us. 4 Results to being rooted in truth and resulting Evidences of Salvation: Assurance of salvation that reassures our heart before God. (Vs 19-20) Confidence before God and boldness in prayer (vs 21-22) Obedience in faith in Jesus Christ and obedience in love toward others (22-23) Abiding in the Spirit of God that empowers us and keeps us (24) This video will cover the first 2 results in verses 19-22 and our next video will have the last 2. Make sure to read the passage first for yourself, as I didn't take the time to read it all together on the video. "By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us." If you would like a digital version of this whole passage follow this link: https://www.esv.org/1+John+3/
