Father Hallison Parro - Sunday Homily - September 21, 2025 - 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year C

On this liturgical Sunday, the Word of God invites us to cultivate readiness and prudence before the presence of the Kingdom among us. We must know how to make wise choices and sacrifices to maintain fidelity in both the small and the great things of life. Listen to our reflection, read the Gospel below, and meditate on it. Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 16:1-13 At that time, 1 Jesus said to his disciples: "A rich man had a manager who was accused of squandering his possessions. 2 He called him in and said to him, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, for you are no longer able to manage my property.' 3 The manager then began to think to himself, 'You are going to take the management away from me. What shall I do? I don't have the strength to dig; I am ashamed to beg. 4 Oh! I know what to do, so that someone will welcome me into their home when I am removed from the management.' 5 Then he called in each one who owed his master. And he asked the first, 'How much do you owe my master?' 6 He replied, 'A hundred barrels of oil!' Then the manager said, 'Take your bill, sit down quickly, and write fifty!' 7 Then he asked another, 'And you, how much do you owe?' He replied, 'A hundred measures of wheat.' The manager said, 'Take your bill and write eighty.' 8 And the master commended the dishonest manager, because he had acted shrewdly. For the children of this world are more shrewd in their dealings than the children of light. 9 And I tell you, use unrighteous wealth to make friends, for when it runs out, they will welcome you into eternal dwellings. 10 Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in large matters, and whoever is unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in large matters. 11 Therefore, if you have not been faithful in the handling of unrighteous wealth, who will trust you with true wealth? 12 And if you have not been faithful in what belongs to another, who will give you what belongs to you? 13 No one can serve two masters. for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money." Word of Salvation. #sundayhomily #dailyhomily #dailyliturgy #sundayliturgy #dailyliturgyhomilyoftoday #homily #gospeloftheday #gospeloftheday #catechesis #catholic
