Hearing on Release of President Kennedy's Assassination Records Filmmaker Oliver Stone and others testified at the House Oversight Committee's Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets hearing pertaining to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Mr. Stone requested that the task force reopen the investigation into the assassination, including any alleged involvement by the CIA in the incident. According to another witness at the hearing, independent journalist and author Jefferson Morley, the recently declassified files convinced him that three former CIA officials were "responsible for or complicit in the death of the president, either by criminal negligence or covert action." Mr. Morley also testified that he believed Lee Harvey Oswald, the man officially identified as the assassin, was manipulated by the CIA.
