Everyone in the kingdom joined in the happy celebrations except for the mean fairy. She crashed her way into the party and cast a spell onto the baby princess. The spell was that at age 15 the princess would prick her finger on a spindle and die! Luckily another fairy did what she could to make this evil spell less harsh. She said that instead of dying the princess would fall asleep for 100 years. In order to wake up the princess would need to be kissed by a prince. As the young princess turned fifteen years old, she was tricked by the mean fairy. The princess was pricked by the spindle and fell fast asleep. Everyone else in the kingdom fell asleep too. One hundred years later a young prince came riding past the palace. He decided to go inside. There he found everyone fast asleep, including the beautiful princess. He bent down to kiss the sleeping beauty and with that he broke the spell. She woke up and saw the handsome prince. They fell in love in an instant. Everyone else also woke up from their long slumber. There was great joy and happiness as the prince and princess got married. They, and everyone in the kingdom, lived happily ever after.
