Closing worship service prayer on 4/6/2025
4/6/2025 morning worship service Pastor Anthony Fields "LIFE'S - Decision to Be "All IN' Luke 13:31-35 Last Sunday I spoke about the 'decisive moments' (Luke 4:1-13). Sometimes the decisive moment asks us to leave a place, a way of being, or the way we've always done things. Sometimes it means staying, recommiting, and going deeper. ▪︎ The All ln Question The thing about decisive moments is... they ask us if we are "ALL IN". I think that's the question before Jesus in today's gospel. ▪︎ Clarity What if clarity is the key to being all in? What if that's what we're seeing in Jesus today? ▪︎. Today, Tomorrow, And The Next Day The world today doesn't necessarily need louder voices, more power, money, or information, or smarter or harder working people: We need people with clarity about what it means and looks like to love our neighbor as ourselves, to welcome the stranger, to feed the hungry and care for the sick, to strive for justice and peace among all people, to respect the dignity of every human being, to seek and serve Christ in all persons." ______________________ "Psalm 30:1--3, 12-13 "I will exalt you, O Lord, because you have lifted me up: and have not let my enemies triumph over me. O Lord my God, I cried out to you and you restored me to health. You brought me up O Lord from the dead. You restored my life, as I was going down to the grave, you have turned my wailing into dancing. You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy. Therefore, my heart sings to you without ceasing. O lord, my God.I will give you thanks forever." When We love and learn to share: when we love, Christ is there." _________________ "God of love, "Forgive us when we make a mockery of love by only speaking of love, Burden us with your embodied love so that our first response may be to love with our hands and feet. May our love take on the flesh you so humbly bore. Amen." ___________________ " "Think on This: The Best Question Ever" Ephesians 5:8-16 We've all done dumb stuff in our lives. We all have regrets. Yet none of us plans to mess up our lives. Why, then, does it keep happening? Life doesn't have to be that way. You can fool-proof your life.. God's promise and pattern is for something better. In his book, "The Best Question Ever", Andy Stanley effectively teaches the practical and lasting value of simply asking this question about our actions in all of life's arenas In the referenced scripture text we learn we should not "walk" as we did when we were in darkness but rather walk in the light asking: "What is the wise thing for me to do", in light of my past experience, my present circumstances, and my future hopes and dreams, What is the wise decision?" ___________________ " "How to know if you're growing in your faith" James 1:23-25, Romans 8:29, Luke 4:4, Hebrews 5:13-14 All of us remember what it's like to be a teenager. We're growing like a weed, We're growing, but it's almost despite ourselves. But what about our faith life? ▪︎ How much of Jesus do you see reflected in your life? ▪︎. What's one way that reading the Bible has informed your understanding of who God is? Is there anything you thought was true about Him before you started reading that. you now know isn't?"
