3 Anti-Nutrients in a Carnivore Diet to Avoid

Thiaminase I is an enzyme found in certain RAW fish (carp, smelt, herring, goldfish), shellfish (mussels, clams), that breaks down thiamine (vitamin B1), leading to deficiency if a lot of it is consumed regularly. Cooking destroys thiaminase, but eating 100–250g (~3.5–9 oz) of raw high-thiaminase fish daily for weeks at a time can cause issues, especially in those with low thiamine intake. Not an issue for the 99% of us who don't eat 6 ounces of raw fish daily for weeks at a time...
