English Premier League stars charged over support for Anelka's anti-Semitic Quenelle salute

The English Football Association has charged two Premier League players over the controversial 'quenelle' gesture just weeks after striker Nicolas Anelka was found guilty, fined and banned for making the salute, which is widely considered anti-Semitic. Benoit Assou-Ekotto, currently on loan to QPR from London's Tottenham Hotspur, a club with deep ties to the local Jewish community, was charged with improper conduct after posting a message on Twitter congratulating Anelka on his 'beautiful quenelle.
