JULY 17, THE CONSTITUTION DAY & THE CONSTITUTION 7월17일 제헌절 그리고 헌법 On July 17, 1948, the first Constitution of the Republic of Korea was promulgated. Since then, it has maintained social order in Korean society and provided important limitations on authority, while recognizing human dignity as the highest value. History reveals that the Constitution has suffered from corruption, but since the June Democracy Movement in 1987, it has truly stood to protect the freedoms and rights of the Korean people. As it was written for the people of Korea, we need to know it well in order to fully exercise our rights. On July 17, 2020, learn the basics of the Korean Constitution with Lawyer Yang Ji-yeol, who is also the author of “Let’s Read The Constitution Again.” 1948 년 7월 17일 대한민국 제헌국회 헌법이 공포됐다. 그때부터 지금까지 우리 사회의 기본 질서를 유지시키는 중요한 역할을 하고 있는 헌법. 때로는 권력자들에 의해 부정적 방향으로 악용되기도 했지만 1987년의 6월 항쟁 이후부터는 진정한 의미의 민주적 규범이 되어 왔다. 인간의 존엄과 가치를 최고의 권리로 보장하고 있으며 국가 권력의 행사를 제한하는 기준이 되기도 하는 헌법. 국가의 주인은 국민, 그리고 국민을 위해 만들어진 헌법. 우리에게 주어진 권리를 제대로 행사하려면 우리는 헌법을 알아야 한다. 대한민국의 초석을 마련하고 제시한 날인 제헌절 72주년을 맞아 “헌법 다시 읽기” 저자인 양지열 변호사와 함께 우리 헌법을 다시 생각해본다. #ConstitutionDay #72thConstitutionDay #Constitution #Korea’sConsitution #RightsAndFreedoms #RealOwnersofKorea
