Proverbs 25:28(KJV); He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. One of the reasons some Christians are constantly under the attack of the enemy is because their spirits are not ruled. The Bible says that such a spirit is like a city that is broken down without walls. This means that one of the ways to guard yourself from the enemy’s afflictions is knowing how to control your spirit. There are walls that the enemy cannot breach because a man has learnt how to rule his spirit. For example, a ruled spirit does not REACT IN FEAR to a bad report from a doctor. Instead, it RESPONDS with God’s Word. If this is your default mode because of the ruled state of your spirit, the devil will understand that an attack against you through sickness is a waste of time. A ruled spirit lives by the godly convictions of the heart and not the urgings of the flesh. By this principle alone, such a man walks in paths that the fowl does not know and the vulture’s eyes have not seen(Job 28:7). He is preserved from the schemes of the enemy. Hallelujah! PRAYER: My Loving Father, I am grateful for today’s wisdom. I understand how to guard my heart, fortify my spirit and strengthen the walls around my inner man.
