Insightful interviews that tell the real stories and put you on the couch where you’ll feel like you’re experiencing it in real time. On this installment of Revelations, we talk with the great american songwriter Jack Tempchin, who wrote many classics in the 70s and 80s especially his work with one of America’s greatest bands, Eagles. We’ve had Jack on the show quite a few times. and he’s always entertaining as you probably know… Jack was a close friend and collaborator with the late Glenn Frey having written or co-written several Eagles classics including Lyin Eyes and Already gone and co-created many of Glenn’s solo hits including You Belong to the City, True Love, and Smuggler’s blues. Here Jack tells the amusing story of creating Eagles rock classic Already Gone from the 1974 double platinum album On the Border. the rocker went to #32 on the hot 100 that same year and would also appear on Eagles Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975_ which is currently the biggest selling album of all time in America. Jack had two songs on that one so he does ok with the royalty checks… This rock song started out as a country song but Glenn Frey wanted to blow it out. So it became one of band’s best rockers.
