They could not have imagined a more terrible death. Their faith was challenged as they wept. On the morning of the first day of the week, you appeared to Mary Magdalene and her companions at the tomb, telling them, "Do not be afraid!" Your death and resurrection remind us that you will bring new life to those who have died. Forgive and heal the brokenness of our loved ones who have died, and welcome them into your loving presence. Help us, we pray, to grow each day in your love and grace, and one day bring us home to you.
