Reading 1: Proverbs 3:27-34 In today’s first reading, Proverbs calls us to a life of generosity and integrity. We are reminded not to withhold good from those who deserve it when we have the power to act, urging us to act in kindness without delay. It challenges us to avoid envy, quarrels, and deceit, highlighting the blessing of walking in righteousness and the Lord's disfavor towards those who act with arrogance. Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 15 “The just one shall live on your holy mountain, O Lord.” The Psalm describes the qualities of the just, emphasizing integrity, truthfulness, and justice. The one who lives blamelessly and harms no one will find favor with the Lord, standing firm in His presence. This psalm is a beautiful reminder that righteousness brings closeness to God and eternal peace. Gospel: Luke 8:16-18 In the Gospel, Jesus speaks of light and the importance of not hiding it. He calls His followers to let their light shine for all to see. Everything hidden will be revealed, and those who receive the Word with openness and faith will be given even more. However, those who fail to act on what they have been given will lose even what little they have. Jesus encourages us to be mindful of how we receive and act upon His teachings, calling us to be witnesses to His light in the world. Reflection Today’s readings invite us to examine how we live out our faith in practical ways. Proverbs urges us to be prompt in doing good and to avoid selfishness or envy. The Gospel challenges us to let our faith be a visible light, a beacon of truth and goodness to those around us. On this Memorial of Saint Pius of Pietrelcina, we are inspired by the humble life of Padre Pio, who, through his deep faith and service, became a guiding light to many. Like him, we are called to live generously, humbly, and transparently, letting our faith be evident in our actions. As we reflect on these readings, may we strive to let God’s light shine through us, bringing kindness, justice, and truth to a world in need. Thank you for joining us on The Holy Way.
