Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock), a brilliant but reclusive author, has spent her career writing about exotic locations in her popular romance-adventure novels, which feature attractive cover model Alan (Channing Tatum), who has committed his life to emulating the hero character "Dash." Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) who hopes she can lead him to the old lost city's wealth from her current storey while on tour promoting her new book with Alan. Alan goes out to rescue her, wanting to show that he can be a hero in real life as well as in her stories.
