ESTATE SALE HOW-TO! | DIGGING OUT ANTIQUES & VINTAGE TO RESELL
ANTIQUES, VINTAGE, TOOLS & KITCHEN | RESELLER PREPS INVITATION-ONLY ESTATE SALE Once family picks through dad's 50-year estate accumulation, it's our turn! I take on the task of ferreting out the good stuff (especially antiques and vintage) as I prep a sale that is by invitation only, rather than open to the public...and you're invited to explore the contents with me in this video. You see what I see when we first walk inside this house, a hodgepodge of things left after family takes their special heirlooms. The crock just inside the doorway, Scandinavian modern tables and a really amazing man-o-war sculpture tell us there's goodies to be found in this house. It's more than mid-century as we explore all three levels. Shaker dining sets, vintage and antiquarian books, Persian rugs and paper ephemera all vie for our attention. The goal is to know what's in the house before the invitees come to shop, and to talk about fair prices to charge resellers so both they and the estate sale client benefit! The big dig is in the basement, where a stack of records worth combing and some good vintage stereo equipment rest alongside scarcely used power tools and a 1960s folding boat. One special find involves cans of Campbell's soup...you have to see it to believe it! Upstairs, resellers will delight in what we find, where a large sewing room offers supplies and machines...many online resellers understand that beyond antiques and vintage, there's a market for all kinds of used goods! We focus more on the home's quality vintage fashion, a handsome old typewriter on stand and a saxophone that proves to be a really good model, along with jazz band watercolors, programs from defunct local sports teams and a table of antique and vintage pieces plucked from the kitchen to attract dealers to buy. In the end, we show a few of the items that go into dealer/reseller piles (including a fellow YouTuber and sale invitee), discuss items we plan to sell elsewhere for the client's benefit (and why), and leave behind a largely emptied house! Here are more of the items we find in this video: Boeing B-52 desk model, ship and airplane models, studio pottery, carved mini totem pole, Victorian English ABC plate and transferware, aircraft carrier toy box, Grumman Zippo, Boeing ephemera, crocks, dulcimer, spotlight, Yei throw, Danish chair/ottoman, Dansk dinnerware, Kitchen Aid mixer, music prints/poster, Pfaff serger, loom, vintage headphones, side-by-side 1890s secretary desk, Knights of Malta apron, jointed wood figures, Nambe bowl, Noritake scenic bowl, moustache cups, ruby flash shaker, fish carving set, cameras, Noritake Azalea, bank bag, etc. ———————————————————— Are you interested in exclusive content and special perks that help support this channel? ☀️ Become a member today at the following link! https://bit.ly/32dfTcz ———————————————————— Follow me on social media, check out my eBay listings, and buy my book! ☀️ Facebook http://bit.ly/33TG9J9 ☀️ Instagram http://bit.ly/2KOJcur ☀️ Twitter http://bit.ly/30BjrU9 ☀️ Periscope http://bit.ly/31Vv09J ☀️ My eBay listings: https://ebay.to/2mg7yDM ☀️ My book on Treasure Craft Pottery: http://bit.ly/37SkxOt ———————————————————— If you love what we do, consider donating to the channel! ☀️ PayPal: https://bit.ly/3dLxmx3 ———————————————————— ☀️ Send me stuff: The Antique Nomad PO Box 33 Dawson Springs, KY 42408 ———————————————————— Music from https://filmmusic.io "Sweeter Vermouth" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) License: CC BY (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b...)
