Maple Syrup & Soy Glazed Trout

Maple Syrup & Soy Glazed Trout

In this video I bake a beautiful Lake Huron Steelhead (Rainbow) Trout fillet using one of my favourite recipes - a mixture of Maple Syrup and Soy Sauce with garlic. The mixture calls form mostly Maple Syrup with less Soy, but it's hard to mess this one up. The most important thing is to make sure the trout is not over done. The recipe here calls for 15 mins at 400 degrees. This was perfect for the fillet I cook in this video, though it's a rather large fillet, if it's a smaller and thinner fillet, you might want to give it 12 mins. And, if it's a thick salmon fillet (yes this recipe is great for salmon too), I'd give it 20. Here's the recipe - it's a must try! 1) Preheat oven to 400 degrease Fahrenheit 2) Crush 3 cloves of Garlic and put in bowl 3)1/2 cup of real maple Syrup 4) 4 Tbsp of Soy Sauce (not the low sodium kind) 5) Add a few shakes of Garlic Salt 6) Stir it all together 7) Dunk the Trout in the sauce making sure it's thoroughly coated 8) Grease cooking tray 9) lay Trout flat on cooking tray 10) Pour some of the remaining sauce over the trout 11) Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes on middle rack 12) Devour!
