A Fifth Avenue Christmas - Holiday Decorations Walking Tour
Come with as I stroll along NYC's famed Fifth Avenue to check out all the holiday cheer, lights and window decorations. Starting at what I believe to be the most ingenious way to disguise a building under construction.. the Louis Vuitton flagship at the corner of 5th Ave and W 57 St. Currently the entire building has been made to look like a sky-high stack of the brands famous trunks. And for the holiday there is also a holiday animation projected on it. Next we will quickly checkout of the Dior boutique next to the Apple Cube before returning to the holiday window displays at Bergdorf Goodman. The Bergdorf windows are my absolute favorites and coming into the city to see them is practically a tradition at this point. They are also so oppulant, and densely packed with the most beautiful custom built objects surround some of the most beautiful. fashion.. The main 5 windows are organized on a theme but we will check out a couple more as well. This year the theme is "The Toast of the Town". From there I proceed south on Fifth Avenue stopping to watch the holiday animation on the Cartier mansion, past a smattering of other shop windows, past St Patrick's Cathedral until reaching Rockefeller Center and its famous, and massive, christmas tree. I walk down and around the christmas tree looking at the people ice skating below, before wandering down to see Radio City Music Hall and the lights on 6th Ave. Then I come back to Fifth Ave ending on the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue. Normally there is a beautiful light and music show on the facade of Saks, but the opted to cancel it this year. Here are some timestamps in case you would to jump to something specifc.
