Akko comes from a family which used to run a traditional high-end Japanese restaurant since early 1900 for three generations. Yuko runs a unique Japanese private dining business “Omotenashi Dining” in England since 2016. We found out a miraculous connection with our family history when we met each other in England by chance. Our ancestors worked side by side as rice traders in Yamagata prefecture, Japan since early 1700’s. Our passion for food and 300 years of family history connected us together to start this YouTube channel, “Ko-Me Kitchen”. “KoMe” means “rice” in Japanese which perfectly represent our family history as well as a staple food of Japan.
