STEM Water Rocket Launch

As part of a year-end STEM project, several students from 3rd, 4th and 5th grade deigned and launched water rockets. Bowley recently purchased an Aqua Pod Rocket launcher. The students learned about Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion, (forces between two forces are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction). The students were given parameters to follow when designing their rocket. After the initial launch, students employed EDP, (Engineering Design Process). They were allowed to revise and improve their rockets for a more successful 2nd launch. Rockets reached heights of over 100 feet.
