God of War Ragnarok Gameplay Part 7: The Lost Sanctuary Welcome to our playthrough of "God of War Ragnarök," an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Released globally on November 9, 2022, for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, this game marks the first cross-generational release in the series. It is the ninth installment in the God of War series, continuing the story from the 2018 game. Set within the rich world of Norse mythology, Ragnarök enhances its predecessor's narrative with an increased focus on exploration and open-world gameplay. While the 2018 game allowed access to six of the nine realms, Ragnarök lets players explore all nine, introducing new realms such as Svartalfheim, home of the industrious Dwarves; Vanaheim, the lush territory of the Vanir gods; and Asgard, the golden realm of the Æsir gods. Midgard, the central realm in the previous game, has become a frozen wasteland due to Fimbulwinter, a three-year winter that started at the end of the last game. The once-navigable Lake of the Nine is now frozen. Svartalfheim offers extensive exploration akin to Midgard's in the prior game, while Alfheim, Helheim, and Niflheim return with expanded areas and character development.
