Daily Gospel - Friday, October 3, 2025 - Luke 10:13-16 - Catholic Bible

Welcome to our daily encounter with the Word of God! Today, we will reflect on the readings from the Book of the Prophet Baruch (Baruch 1:15-22) and the Gospel according to Saint Luke (Luke 10:13-16). These passages invite us to repentance, humility before God, and responsibility in welcoming His Word. First Reading (Baruch 1:15-22): In Baruch’s reading, the people make a collective confession of guilt before God. They acknowledge their disobedience, unfaithfulness, and hardness of heart that led them away from the Lord. This prayer is communal, showing repentance and humility as they seek forgiveness. This passage reminds us that recognizing our sins is the first step toward reconciliation. It is not about despair but about opening ourselves to God’s mercy. True conversion begins when we honestly admit our failings and allow God’s grace to restore us. Gospel (Luke 10:13-16): In the Gospel, Jesus rebukes the cities of Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum for not responding to the signs and miracles performed among them. He declares that even Tyre and Sidon would have repented had they witnessed such wonders. Jesus concludes by affirming that whoever listens to His disciples listens to Him, and whoever rejects them rejects both Him and the Father who sent Him. This passage calls us to responsibility. God’s Word is not something to ignore. Each sign and teaching of Christ is an invitation to conversion. To reject Jesus’ message is to reject the salvation offered by the Father. Reflection and Call to Conversion Today’s readings invite us to examine our lives sincerely. Like the people in Baruch, we are called to confess our sins and turn back to God. At the same time, Jesus warns of the seriousness of rejecting His Word. True wisdom is found in welcoming His message with faith and humility. May these passages strengthen your spiritual journey!
