Judging the Great Guitar Build Off 2021 (my top picks)

These are my top picks as one of the official judges of the unofficial GGBO 2021! These are my judging metrics: scale of 1-5 for each of the following: 1. Did the video keep my attention? 2. Did I learn anything? 3. Do I feel inspired to try something new, or do I feel like I could do this if I wanted to? 4. did the builder do anything innovative? 5. Is this a guitar I’d be proud to gig? Scratch build competition: 1- Izak Mrgole (magic attic guitars)    • Electric guitar building from scratch. Bui...   1. 5- beautiful cinematography 2. 5- washer trick, tape around gluing neck pocket 3. 5- very inspiring 4. 5- textured neck, magnetic stuff pocket 5. 5- beautiful guitar, would be appreciated by musicians, but not overly weird or attention grabbing. 6. Well done 2. 5- learned that vanish sticks to brass, tape pulls up wood grain, and can use angle grinder to carve neck 3. 5- yes, I want to try making a neck with sanding flap disk, and try new finish using varnish or shellac 4. 3- very cool guitar, but nothing innovative 5. 4- beautiful. An eye catcher but in a good way. 6.
