The life of Benelli the German Shorthaired Pointer - 4/27/12 to 3/16/23

Benelli, our German Shorthair Pointer, struggled with some health issues since the start of the year, and unfortunately we had to say our last goodbye on 3/16/23. This video highlights some fun times in his life, and our lives living with a GSP. He came home with us on June 26, 2012, and we can say that he actually chose us! We went to view the puppies in his litter, and of course he plopped right in our laps right when we first met him. The other dogs in the litter had no interest, so he came home that day. The rest is history, from apartment living, running in the field next door, moving into our home with a nice lot, learning to deal with another fluffy dog (our Bichon Frise named Rocky), leaning to deal with little humans as we had children - Benelli adapted to it all. Benelli was also a backyard frisbee champion, caught a squirrel or two - the last one put up a good fight causing a little bloodshed, and most of all - he was the sweetest, loving family dog for all of us. While we will miss Benelli greatly, his memories, photos, and videos will live on with us forever. His backyard protection duty officially ended last week with one last perimeter check. #germanshorthairedpointer #germanshorthair #gsp
