DISCOURSE IN BENGALI /ডিসকোর্স বাংলায়/Michel Foucault/Literary Theory/Term/Cultural Studies

The video discusses Discourse in Bengali. Discourse is a very common term in literary and cultural criticism. Discourse is popularised by Michel Foucault ; it refers to a given subject, and it sheds light on the overall perception of that particular or given subject–  its norms, its social practices, the various institutions around it. Foucault in The Archaeology of  Knowledge said that “the discourse of a given institution or discipline governs the production of knowledge within it”. Foucault' lecture “The Discourse on Language” claims that  “in every society, the production of discourse is at once controlled, selected, organized, and redistributed according to a certain number of procedures. . .” Thus, far from being “natural,” the discursive practice ‘is rooted in a historical development where choices were made to exclude some things and emphasize others’. #discourseinbengali#ডিসকোর্স বাংলায়#englishliteraturessimplifiedpro
