~Love Is My Enemy It's been a month after Joe and I had finally started being friends that I was more apathetic towards people who were lost in love. I walked into my office and found that Joe was sitting on my futon. "W-what are you doing here?" Joe looked up from his book. "You told me to swing around for lunch...?" I looked at my watch it was a quarter till twelve. I sighed "Alright, you got me let me get my coat" I said walking to my closet and then Demi barged in. "You cannot believe what ju-Hello" I looked over to see Demi staring at Joe and Joe was DEFINITELY staring back. My heart dropped but I shook my head to myself. "Demi, this is Joe, Joe this is Demi my best-friend" Demi walked over. "Charmed" Joe took her hand smiling. "Cool" I grunted and put my jacket over my shoulders. "You ready?" Joe looked up from Demi's eyes. "For?" I rolled my eyes. "To peel your eyes off of Demi's? Lunch!?" "Oh! Yeah!" Joe stood up, "Mate!" I looked at him startled and then a big husky came out from under my desk, I nearly screamed it was SUCH a huge dog..Its fur was like the color of the snow. Mate walked over to Demi and Demi screamed. "Oh my god! Keep it away!" I rolled my eyes and patted my thighs and Mate came over as I pet him. Joe laughed at Demi. "Guess your not a dog lover?" "No. Way. In. Hell" Demi said breathing heavily and Mate gave me kisses on my hands and arms. I was giggling. "Lets go!" I said looking up and meeting Joe's eyes. He smiled. "What? Can we go please?" I said breaking away from the stare. "Yeah, C'mon mate!" Joe said walking out, I was about to leave until Demi grabbed my coat. "Hey!" I looked at her. "Yeah?" "Your not ya' know..going out with him?" I shook my head. "Strictly friends" Demi nodded. "You don't like him either?" "Strictly friends" I repeated she nodded, "So, um, you wouldn't might if I asked him out?" Demi said smiling and twirling her black hair. I shrugged walking out. "Go for him!" Although my mother taught me to share, I NEVER wanted to share this and I didn't know why. It was just something that I wanted for myself. But Demi would ACTUALLY go out with him and I just wouldn't throw him around...but still. ~ I sat with Joe laughing and giving Mate pieces of my chicken salad. "Ya' know..Mate almost eats everything" I looked at him. "Yeah, I kind of figured it out when I gave him lettuce." Joe laughed and took a sip of his soda. "So, tell me. Have I changed your sight of love?" I shook my head. "Trust me my friend Your not gonna get through this" I said Joe looked at me with narrowed eyes. "I will one day." "Well, that one day will be a long time buccko!" Joe and I laughed and Mate put his head on my lap as I fed him a piece of ranch soaked lettuce. "So your friend Demi...wow" I looked up and faked smiled. "Be careful with her" I blurted. "Why?" Joe said looking intrigued. "Nevermind" I said Joe leaned forward. "Please tell me?" I looked up to meet his eyes and smiled. "Demi is the kind of girl that does the 'One night stands' and 'Fuck and Forget' she says" Joe sat back, "She doesn't seem like that type of girl" I nodded "Thats Demi..ya never know" I took a bite of my salad and Mate whinnied. I looked at Mate. "You ate half my salad!" Mate whinnied again and Joe and I laughed. "I think he likes you" Joe said smiling. "I think I like him too" I said smiling back. Joe and I looked at each other and leaned forward closely my eyes closing we were inches apart when something made us freeze. A milk glass bowl full of chicken salad falling on the ground and loud sounds of chomping. I opened my eyes to stare into Joe's clear hazel ones. "I better go" I said getting up and walking out. I ran my fingers through my hair and quickly made it to my office and sitting down on my futon that had a strange smell of something. I sniffed closer and closer. Taking in a DEEP whiff. It was mens cologne. Old Spice. I kicked off my heels and put my head where The scent was or should I say Joe was and like that.
