NEW Gordie Howe International Bridge | Detroit 4K Aerial View

The construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge is a major infrastructure project spanning both the United States and Canada. The bridge is named after Gordie Howe, a Canadian ice hockey player who was one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. The deck construction began in December 2022, and the Canadian and US sides are expected to meet over the river by the end of June. The final segment, known as the mid-span closure, is custom-built and will take approximately four-to-six weeks to install. The bridge will have six lanes for vehicle traffic and a dedicated multi-use path for pedestrians and cyclists. It spans 1.6 miles and has the longest main span of any cable-stayed bridge in North America.
