First-St. Andrew's United Church Worship Service - March 9, 2025

Welcome to worship at First-St. Andrew's United Church in London, Ontario! We are pleased to present this live-stream worship service on Sunday, March 9, 2025. The service will begin at 10:30am. Today is the first Sunday of Lent. This year's Lenten theme will be "Internal Exile" as a way of reconceiving wilderness in our world today. Rev. Dr. Joshua Lawrence, our Minister of Worship & Congregational Life, will lead the service and preach a sermon on "Mass Incarceration.” Today's scripture readings are Ezekiel 37: 1-14, read by Bill Guthrie and Psalm 49: 1-2, 5-15. This service will also include Communion. Minister of Music, Chris Fischer, and the Senior Choir present two anthems today. Our Musical Reflection is "The Innocence" from the powerful oratorio "Considering Matthew Shepard." It will feature tenor soloist Chris Wood. The Communion Reflection is "Yabban, Yamman" by Rupert Lang. Today's congregational hymns are "We wait for you" by Richard Pryce, MV #140 "As Long as We Follow," VU #700 "God of Freedom, God of Justice," VU #951 "Santo, Santo, Santo / Holy, Holy, Holy" and VU #633 "Bless Now, O God, the Journey."
