As whistleblower Jeffrey Wigand's legal battle against the tobacco giants unfolded, his personal life suffered. In this sombre scene, his loneliness and sadness are vocalised by Lisa Gerrard (who also contributed to the Gladiator score in the same year). This piece, titled 'Sacrifice', is the standout track from the original score composed by Gerrard and Pieter Bourke. Starring Russell Crowe, Al Pacino, Christopher Plummer, Gina Gershon, Philip Baker Hall, Bruce McGill, Michael Gambon, Rip Torn, Stephen Tobolowsky, Colm Feore and Roger Bart.
