Alien Soldier (Replayed) - Part 1: Epsilon Two

This time with better video quality and commentary! I'm back with the first game I've played on this YouTube channel... This is Alien Soldier - A 1995 Run-n-gun released on the Sega Mega Drive in Japan and European Regions. Alien Soldier was also the former Guinness Record holder for having the most bosses in an action shooter before Cuphead claimed the record in 2017. Although the game has become something of an obscure title due to its unfinished nature, Alien Soldier is fondly seen as one of the most visually impressive (if a little too intense) action shooters ever made. Here's a heavily abridged description of Alien Soldier's thinly explained but robust story. The bizarre plot of the game takes place on an alternate Earth in the futuristic year of 2015: Bioengineering and space travel have been mastered. An evil terrorist organization known as "Scarlett" takes over this Earth and makes travel to the outer universe impossible by normal people. As it turns out, Scarlett is not your average criminal syndicate - they are heavily enhanced symbiotic parasites that leech onto humans, animals, and machines to take on a new form. Among these symbiotes are Epsilon Eagle & Xi Tiger, the two heads of Scarlett. Xi Tiger sets Epsilon Eagle up for a Coup d'etat with a police organization known as "BLACK SHEEP" and thus the bird symbiote is thrown into a tear in the Space-time Continuum. (Confused how that happens? So am I.) Epsilon manages to escape his purgatory and finds himself in a teenage clone boy named Fou Misaki (Known in game as simply "The Boy"). The parasite and boy are located in a top secret research facility for mutated children known as "X-AGES". Xi Tiger senses this phenomenon and storms the lab that Fou and Epsilon reside in. As leverage, Xi Tiger takes Fou's best friend, a girl named Kaede Nanase hostage (Also not named in-game). The Boy then goes through a dramatic metamorphosis that combines his good nature with Epsilon's destructive powers. As Epsilon transforms Fou into a cyborg eagle - Tiger kills Kaede in cold blood. Xi Tiger escapes just as quickly as he murdered the girl and Epsilon Eagle swears revenge and flies after him... BUT this anger and the strange rip in the Space-time Continuum has spawned ANOTHER Epsilon Eagle - this one with evil ambition! NOW ARE YOU CONFUSED!?! Don't worry.
