Sea Otter Using a Tool to Open Clams

Sea Otters dive to hunt for food, but they always come back to the surface to eat. At Moss Landing in Monterey Bay, the most abundant food is giant clams and fish. When they catch a large clam with a hard shell, they have to use a tool: a flat stone on their belly to smash open the shell.
