VIDEO | Plane lands on California beach

A small plane landed on a beach north of San Diego this morning. The single-propeller small plane with purple detailing came down on its belly on a stretch of the beach. Consequently, the waves began to turn the plane around as they came in. Nobody was on the beach near the aircraft when it came down at 7:40 AM local time, but people quickly began to crowd around 30-40 feet above it on the cliff. Three people were aboard the plane, which is used for training new pilots, according to Carlsbad Fire Department.
