The story follows Lightning, who fights against the government to save her sister, who has been marked as an unwilling servant to a god-like being from Pulse. This makes her an enemy of Cocoon. Lightning is soon joined by a group of allies, and they too are marked by the same Pulse creature. Together, they rally against the Sanctum while trying to uncover their mission and avoid being turned into monsters or crystals upon completion.
