Second Sunday in Lent, March 16, 2025

ECSM shares a service of progressive Christian worship for Sunday, March 16th, the second Sunday of Lent. Rev. Dr. Teresa Chavez Sauceda gave the prompting. Together we sang “Come and Fine the Quiet Center” (tune: Beach Spring), Shirley Frena Murray, “For Everyone Born” (769), “I Need Thee Every Hour” (735), “The Summons” (726), “Though I May Speak” (693), “Doxology” (606), and “In Our Church We Love Each Other” (Barbara Hamm), accompanied by Rev. Dr. Karen Hastings- Flegel (organ) and Elaine Palmer (piano). The offertory was “One Day at a Time” (Marijohn Williams and Kris Kristofferson), a solo featuring Jane Fish. The organ prelude was “I Need Thee Every Hour” (arr. Fred B. Binckes); piano postlude was “I Go to the Rock” (Dottie Rambo).
