Island of Salamina (Σαλαμίς) - A tour of the island/ Voge 300 Rally

Greece - Saronikos Bay - Just west of Athens- The island of Salamina (Salamis / Σαλαμίνα). A tour of the island, Saturday morning, 5th of April, 2025... Pretty close to Athens and Piraeus, just 15' away from Perama by Ferry, a beautiful island. This place carries a heavy Ancient Greek history, the famous naval battle of Salamis (480 BC) where the Delphic oracle gave the following oracle "the wooden walls will save Athens" [from the Persians - Achaemenid Empire under King Xerxes] and the people of Athens were divided on the meaning of it: did she really mean literally wooden walls or did she mean the wooden ships (the triremes). In the end, the second view, that of Themistocles, prevailed. And everything went as hoped and planned... Although relatively degraded due to excessive lawless urbanization during the 60s,70s and 80s, today, the island seems to be recovering and becoming beautiful again.
