Great Union Pacific meet @ Atomic Crossing in Ames, Iowa!

Monday, February 3, 2014, 4:31 PM. The approach of an eastbound Union Pacific coal train crossing North Dakota Avenue as viewed from Scholl Road (Atomic Crossing) is interrupted by a much closer westbound manifest passing under the Minnesota Avenue bridge. The meet was nicely enough choreographed (my compliments to the dispatcher) that the westbound cleared the view in time to get a good look at the power on the eastbound, who honks the horn quite a lot, presumably due to the engineer knowing peoples' tendency to cross the tracks after one train passes without looking for a second one.
