A 울산 최초의 판소리꾼이라는 무거운 책임을 가지고 40여 년을 소리에 매진한 소리꾼으로 어려움도 많았지만, 현재 울산에서 또는 전국 각지에 활동하고 있는 많은 제자들과 후배들을 보며, 보람을 느끼기도 하고, 앞서간 발자국이 바른 길이기를 바라는 마음입니다 국악, 특히 판소리에 대한 인식이 부족한 울산 시민들을 위하여 다양한 강의나 공연을 통하여 판소리를 알리기 위해 애쓴 보람으로 이제는 국악 공연에서 추임새는 자연스럽게 들리는 공연문화가 자리 잡고 있다고 생각합니다 저의 소망은 꺼지지 않는 열정을 가지고 득도를 향해 우직하게 걸어가고 있는 소리꾼이고 싶습니다 - “If you know the sori, YOU CAN SEE THE SORI” Lee Sun-sook Pansori Research Institute opened in 1997 and has held regular performances and full-song Pansori every year since its founding performance in 1998, striving to spread Pansori and foster backwardness Through various creative activities such as Arirang, Bulmae Sori, and Rice Planting Sori in the region, we are trying to communicate with local people and popularize traditional music Q At last year's regular performance 'Pansori Talk show’, Lee Sun-sook Pansori Research Institute sang the story of becoming a master singer So, what kind of singer would you like to be remembered by your disciples or the audience? A I am the first Pansori singer in Ulsan With the heavy responsibility of being the first pansori singer, I devoted myself to Pansori for 40 years, and there were many difficulties due to it Looking at many disciples and juniors who are currently active in Ulsan or all over the country, I feel rewarded, and I hope that the footprints ahead will be the right path For Ulsan citizens who lack awareness of Korean traditional music, especially Pansori, it is worth trying to promote Pansori through various lectures and performances, and I think that the performance culture that sounds natural in Korean traditional music performances is now in place My wish is to be a singer who is walking straight toward completion with unending passion
