"Consider the Lilies," Barbara Keiser Hopkins, pianist
When Roger Hoffman wrote the words and music of the hymn “Consider the Lilies,” he created an inspired musical setting for some of the most reassuring teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ recorded in His Sermon on the Mount. Christ invites us to “Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin,” yet they are clothed so beautifully that “even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these,” which are here for a few days then wilt and die. If God cares for simple flowers so tenderly, how much more does He care for us His children who love and serve Him? (Matthew 6:28-34) Here I perform an arrangement by David R. Naylor. This soundtrack was recorded by Clive Romney.
