The LEGO Movie was a surprise critical and commercial success back in 2014-- and while a sequel for it is in the works, we now have a first trailer for the spinoff - The LEGO Batman Movie -- which aims to proves Jimmy Kimmel and Ben Affleck wrong. Batman was a heavily featured side character in the original LEGO movie that resonated with fans for his comical take on the classic character. And his trailer gives us a look at his life outside of crime-fighting, which doesn’t look too awesome. This fits with the premise that was previously teased by LEGO Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who said that the movie will explore a simple question: “Can Batman be happy?” Or, as Chris McKay, the director of this film puts it The LEGO Batman Movie is “‘About a Boy’ as directed by Michael Mann.” Voiced by Will Arnett- Batman will team up with some new sidekicks previously unseen in the LEGO Movie universe-- including Robin, voiced by Michael Cera as well as Batgirl voiced by Rosario Dawson.
