No-deal Brexit could have negative effect on GDP says IMF economist

Brexit Britain will keep pace with the biggest economies in Europe but only if gets a divorce deal, the International Monetary Fund warned today. In its latest forecasts for how the world economy is expected to perform, the IMF predicted Britain would fractionally out perform France and Germany this year - but grow less than the eurozone overall. In 2020 Germany is expected to outpace Britain while France will grow at the same rate. A no deal Brexit would be a blow to the entire global economy because of the turmoil it would cause, IMF chief economist Gita Gopinath (pictured).
